Title: EMuSer for sale
Post by: Freddy on October 07, 2012, 01:31:48 PM
Hi,

I build and sell EMuSers. USB cable and handmade serial cable included. International shipping and support till it we get it to work with your setup is also included. 129Euros in total I've built dozens over the last 5 years and I will sell my last 4 ones.
(Parts are not cheap and cannot be ordered only from one distributor).

Let me know which cable you require or if you want both.

I think these adapters are really worth it, especially if you consider the numerous new possibilities you have (Sample memory efficiently with your PC and load it into the sampler without losses; if you have no HD then your PC is the optimal and almost unlimited storage device which will immensely increase your flexibility)

If there are still questions I recommend you to check esynthesist's great website emxp.net or just ask me.

Works on Windows and Mac.

Best regards!

Hi, i'm looking to get an EMuSer. I'm new to the forums, and esynthesis pointed me your way.  I have 2 E-II Keyboards in very good condition. I am doing a project that requires the sounds from the OMI library. I have the 1st and 2nd CDs coming for conversion, and obviously will not be able to go back and forth from my mac book pro if i don't have this cable. Let me know what i need to do.

Thanks

Well you can trust Freddy 100%.

He has built one for me lately, the guy is so kind and the box is changing a lot the way we use our old samplers.
Not to mention for the french customers that his french is almost perfect !

cheers !

UPDATE

I lost track how many Emusers I've already built till now, but I estimate something between 18-20 and it still makes fun to see them work along with my PC and these old samplers. Don't thank me but esynthesist as he developped this amazing tool.

I'm currently about to reproduce the EII RS422 board, though I'm still waiting for my EII to return. These are required if you want to use the Emuser with the early EII model (REV. 0 main digital board).

Peace. Big thank you!!!!! I got my EmUser a few days ago and it works perfectly on both my Dell Dimension with Windows XP SP2 and my HP G62-345NR laptop running Windows 7 64 bit! While he was working on the EmUser for me in conversation I brought up that I was also looking for a serial cable that could be use to connect my older powerbook G3 to the Emax, he looked up the specs for it and built one of those as well they both arrived working perfectly!!!! The build quality is amazing! Thanks again Frederic Peace & Love ;D

However it doesn't work with the EIII.

Title: Re: EMuSer for sale
Post by: Freddy on December 07, 2014, 04:46:23 AM
What annoys me is, that like 15-20 interested people led extensive e-mail conversations with me, asked me every detail about the EMuSer, asked me random stuff about E-mu samplers, wanted recommendations etc etc. Answering all those mails took me hours, but I did it. Only to find out now, that exactly two people are really interested, those who asked least and informed themselves most. All the others vowed, I can count on them, etc..

Everything you have to know about the EMuSer can be found here. Read those links carefully, I'm pretty sure it answers most of your questions:
General infos: http://users.skynet.be/emxp/ (http://users.skynet.be/emxp/)
Features of EMXP/EMuSer: http://users.skynet.be/emxp/features.htm (http://users.skynet.be/emxp/features.htm)
Infos about the EMuSer: http://users.skynet.be/emxp/EMuSer.htm (http://users.skynet.be/emxp/EMuSer.htm)
Info video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6N3ShVMkbM (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6N3ShVMkbM)

For any other questions (e.g. "Do I need an EMuSer?" "Do you recommend an EII?"), please ask here on the forum or activate your brain.

And yes, I still build EMuSers, but please respect that I'm no professional and many other things in my life are and have to be more important for me.
If there still unclarities, do not hesitate to ask me.

Best regards

Just received an EMuSer from Freddy.
What can I say, the man is a visionary, a prodigy among us. They don't come any more honest and easy to get along with than Fred, here. He builds a quality machine, goes out of his way to test it before sending it, makes sure you get exactly what you pay for. He has the knowledge and the technical prowess. When it comes to bridging the gap between 21st century audio production and 20th century hardware, look no further, Freddy's got you covered. Couldn't have asked for a more pleasant exchange, your efforts are very much appreciated.

Title: Re: EMuSer for sale
Post by: Freddy on January 06, 2015, 08:53:38 PM
Thanks for your kind words majora.

But I would like to put some things right.

Yes - I do build them for the community, but none of this could have been possible without the invaluable work and commitment Julian Higginson and Esynthesist have put into this project. Thanks to the endless hours these guys have spent on creating this cool, using our samplers has never been that easy before. Furthermore, most of you will be using EMXP and nobody of us can imagine the time and effort Esynthesist must have spent on developing this really unique piece of software.

They published the schematics for free, so everybody of you who wants to say thank you, may be advised to donate.
You find Esynthesist's e-mail/PayPal address in the reference manual of EMXP, page 11 in the latest version or also in the starting screen of EMXP.

Update for the current batch:
everything is ordered and some basic preparation has been done. However, I have troubles with one supplier who informed me after a long time that they do not have a certain part in stock and won't get it in the next time, I have to find someone else for it.
However I won't do it before the weekend, as I have to finish a scientific research study till sunday.

PS.: I ordered parts for 10 EmuSers, although there are only 6 people in the batch, if you want one now, it won't take long.

Hi guys,

the good news is, the EMuSers are technically ready, the cables have been soldered, they have been flashed and tested - all 17 work!

The bad news is that - despite my announcement - I won't be able to send them this week. Because of all the stress in the last weeks, working abroad, studies, papers, finals in two weeks, I forgot to bring the power drill to the Netherlands, where I currently live, study and work. I need it to drill holes in the circuit board to mount it to the casing. I will, however, return to Germany on the 5th of June (after exams, holidays) and will immediately send them.

If you're ok with this - thank you and sorry for the delay. Usually I don't need that much time as you can see in all the feedback here, but the last couple of months were crazy.

If you're not ok with this, drop me a message and I will quickly refund you.

Best regards,
Freddy

Post by: Freddy on September 20, 2015, 02:14:39 PM
Hi guys,

so finally after a very long time for some of you the very last EMuSers got ready and the batch became bigger than I originally expected. I just sent messages to the very last ones of you including a picture of your EMuSer and the postage envelope. Please confirm the address I wrote on the envelopes. I will send the devices next weekend when I'm in Germany again, because there I save 8€ per package.

They have been tested multiple times and I'm very glad that the whole batch is ready to be sent now.

For a start I won't accept new orders (payments). I've got a lot of work at Uni and at my job so I won't be free before the end of October.
Different from the last times I will now create a list of people who are interested and then when I'm ready, ask for the payment. Reason for that is that the very first ones in the last batch had to wait for a long time although I haven't even started and I have to admit that I fully understand your concerns if you don't get any updates for months although you transfered the money.
So this time I will just collect your names and then -when I'm free- ask for the payment. It also takes the pressure of my shoulders ;)
Furthermore, I will keep this batch smaller. I will try to keep it below 10 so I can finish it in around 50-60 hours.

If you're interested send me a message HERE IN THE FORUM. They will get forwarded to my personal e-mail address and it just gets confusing to have e-mails everywhere.

PS.: If you've ordered an EMuSer but haven't received an e-mail containing a picture of your EMuSer -no worries- send me a message. I always have 2 spare EMuSer in case I forget someone. Can happen if you have hundreds of messages here in the inbox.  ;)

Thanks again for your patience and if you like the EMuSer also don't forget to donate to the creator of the EMuSer - Esynthesist and his mate. I'm sure you know his e-mail, if not you'll find it - it's in the EMuSer manual. Also a small feedback here wouldn't be bad.

Hello everybody,

I've got to make an announcement!

For a number of reasons I'll start building Emusers again.

Since I'll move back to Europe and life in Southern California hasn't been exactly cheap, I will start building Emusers again. Originally I also stopped cause I just got bored by it but by now, I kind of miss soldering and playing around with my samplers that stayed in Europe.

I will move back to Germany/Netherlands for my studies around Christmas time and (for logistic reasons) I plan on starting if I get at least 5 requests.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me (english, français, deutsch). I believe though that this thread and the above mentioned links answer most technical/compatibility questions ;-)

Hence if you are interested, shoot me a message.
Freddy

They arrived within a week, and are working 100 pct fine.

Hey,

since I just went through my storage I found PCBs and parts for 8 more EMuSers.

I thought I might run a last batch if we find enough people.

Originally I stopped during a busy phase of my studies, but that's over, so hit me up for a quote. Definitely making the best price you will find on the internet ;-) Plus I will help you as long as it takes to get this thing running with your PC/Mac/Emax/Emulator

After 7 years and countless EMuSers, I have eventually left school and graduated from university. That also means, Ill stop building EMuSers. Its been a pleasure and I think commercial websites have begun building them as well so you should still be able to find them. Thanks and take care  😉

I still have 2 EMuSer-Emax and 1 EMuSer-EmulatorII RS422 cables at home. If somebody wants to have those: 10Euros (The missing casing on two of the connectors will be added before shipping)
