Hi
My name is Marc.
I've been fiddling with samplers ever since I bought a 1 second luxsound sampler way back.
I have a studio built into a recycled shipping container run entirely on solar power.
I own a wonderfull EIII that myself and my tech have put many many hours into. A true labour of love. One day I'll write about it more to help others here. My EIII has a reconditioned power supply and 2 cf-card readers, new screen and is one of the best I've seen. And yes.. Its a love hate relationship. And... well of course.. Nothing sounds like it! Truly 3d possibly 4d.
The centre of my studio is my Akai MPC 3000 which is my all time favourite bit of gear. I also have a Studio Electronics ATC-1, ASR10, S900, S1100, Publison Infernal Machine, Space Echo and a few other bits n pieces.
I also own a broken EII Sad
Ill rebuild the power supply soon. In fact Im pretty convinced that most of the issues with the EII and EIII are power supply related.
Anyhow.
So good to have all this knowledge around for this incredible sampler.
M

Is all this information on the Yahoo Group? :-)

I definitely read that I have to upgrade my Emax HD to the SE with a disk before I can use the Plus OS. Can you confirm this?

Thanks.

And check the order of the Display connection.

Yep always check the order first.

I thought I had to do some sort of SE upgrade with a floppy/disk before I could use the Plus OS?
Also, can I boot the Emax with the Plus OS from the SCSI2SD?
Thanks

I had this issue come up again and began to wonder if this can be tied to a failing component.  Below are the keys that exhibit the whine when pressed:

D1, C2, C#2, D2, A2, G3, G#3, A3, G4, G#4, A4,

Here's a screenshot of bitwig using its spectrum analyzer to identify the pitch:

The Plus OS is the last OS and includes the SE functions.
You can get it here:
http://users.skynet.be/emxp/Additional_downloads.htm

If you have an HD model you don't need a HXC floppy drive. just by scsi2sd drive. this is 10 times faster.

Oh, and I see I have to upgrade my Emax Hd to SE first before I can use the Plus OS - is this correct? Going to join the Yahoo group I think. Any other help welcome for a novice.

Hi, got an Emax HD and just bought a Gotek floppy emulator flashed with the HXC software. Going to get a SCSI2SD V6 card reader with the bay bracket. They can both be installed in the floppy drive bay -  just enough space. Only going to use the Gotek for the OS and save to the SCSI2SD.

Now I have a few questions.....

1. Jumper settings for the Gotek?
2. Where can I get the Plus OS?
3. Does the Plus OS have the SE enhancements too?

Thanks.
