I recently purchased an EIII with a CF card installed internally.  Obviously, this isn't ideal if one plans to swap cards regularly.  Is there a solution for mounting a CF reader in the floppy bay?

Thanks!

I purchased one of the Startech products found here:

https://www.startech.com/HDD/Card-Readers/Internal/Compact-Flash-Card-to-IDE-Adapter-with-35-Bay-Enclosure~35BAYCF2IDE

I will report back with the results.

Sorry for the delayed response, but my EIII suffered a failure and I have yet to get fixed.  See here:

I will report back as soon as I can.

By the way, the Startech website is not mine.  I have no affiliation with the company.

the link to the cf reader is nice, would fit in the drive's position, but you probably need an ide to scsi converter?

You're right and I should have mentioned that.  I bought my EIII with an Acard preinstalled.

My apologies for the extremely late update, but getting my EIII fixed took much longer than expected.  I am happy to report that the Startech reader does work with my Acard.

Which model Acard did you use?

I have one EIII with Acard and on with Yamaha in the floppy section.
Acard does require 3 scsi chains turns before booting which is not needed with the yamaha,
don´t know why...

there is a new SCSI IDE card called Raisin monster that is hot swappable  but I don´t
have any solid report that it will work in EIII
but is seems to work in most other old samplers...

Ordered a RasinMonster woo hoo!!!! Cant wait til between Friday, Dec. 5 and Monday, Dec. 22 when this mofo arrives!!!! Does anyone know the maximum size card the EIII can take? is 32gb the max?

the seller says AKAI/E-mu sampler machine is not recomandable for Big Volume and high speed rate CF card*.
The total dimension with mounting SSD/HDD is bigger** than ordinary HDD size. So, you have to make sure of enough clearance.
Limited manufacture item.
*It is confirmed that over 32GB modern CF card has some bad compatibilities with Vintage Sampler instrument.

Ordered one also yesterday!

I think Raizinmonster has a limit of 32gb
but the EIII limit is 1gb anyway.
Both Acard and yamaha  are  very critical which CF card that works.
I think there is a earlier post about which cards that work..

which 1gb card is the best to use? or can you partition the 32gb card into 32 1gb partitions?
