A word of warning if you're an aspiring synth repair person like me: Be careful when re-seating ICs! it is far too easy to bend pins outside the socket, bend pins under the chip, break pins, put chips in upside down, etc.

Reseating the ICs is effective, but it's a "shotgun" approach that can easily make things worse if you're not being careful.

plus: Stay grounded (touch a radiator or s.th. similar from time to time), as you can also shoot these little things with static voltage...

When I first got my EII I reseated my ICs to see if it would fix a few of the issues I had.

It took me a long, long time to find all the pins I bent or ICs I diddn't seat properly. Do it right the first time, children.
