Hi all,

I have just taken possession of an Emulator II. It has undergone a quite thorough overhaul, and as I understand it, is in good working order.

I tested it at the previous owner's house, and was able to play sounds, and sample.

I drove it home (30 minutes of very careful driving) and now I can't sample. There seems to be no sound input, unless I really crank up the gain, in which case I get a momentary flicker.

Since I saw the thing sample this afternoon, I assume something has been shaken loose in the car. Can anyone suggest what it might be?

I have never opened one of these up, but I assume I need to get used to tinkering with them...

Thanks,

Daniel?

Pulged into mix output? Not channel outs?

Hi,

Thanks for replying.

I am pretty sure i have connected everything up OK.

I have an Emax II and sampled something on that to test my setup.

Hi,

After messing around some more, I realised that it will sample perfectly when it is stone cold, but as it warms up the sampling becomes distorted, and then cuts out altogether.

Obviously there is something that disconnects as it warms up.

Does anyone have any tips as to what to look for?

Tks,

D.

Buy a cooling spray and try spraying some different zones, especially along the channel 1 (channel 0, in fact) to see if it comes bask. May be a bad capacitor (tantalum) or a bad soldering
