Hi guys, I'm new on the forum. I did not use my EIIIxp after 1997 a lot, and when I did a check yesterday because I considered selling it after all, the sound quality just blew my mind. I mostly work with Logic Audio and got along with the Logic sounds fine. But they don't compare to the EIIIxp. I randomly chose the CD-Rom with World Instruments, and the quality of the samples is simply stunning.
I have loads of CD-Roms, but bad news is that I could not find my sloppy disk with the Remote/Librarian software. I bought the software in about 1993, but it got lost over the years somehow. I know I will have to get an older Mac or Powerbook to install it, but it would be such a help to browse through the zillions of sounds more comfortably.
It would be great if you could help and send the software via mail and help me decide on an old Mac (Powerbook prefered due to space available). I remember my Mac I used Remote/Librarian on was a Quadra 650 in 1993. I do not have a floppy drive anymore, but I'm sure there will be a way to install the software.
Thanks a lot.

the manual is on the WWW

you need to hookup midi both in/out to the EIIIx and also configure it correctly in OMS or Free midi.

If you attach the scsi as well you can get library functions.

ACEofBass did you get it working?   please do respond because the desire to assist other fail if people just disappear after raising a query.

Otherwise, for anyone else go here for the software download and the manual:

https://web.archive.org/web/20000901015714/http://www.emulatorarchive.com:80/html/e3xsoftware.html

Both are tested and working as of March 2018

I didn't spend much time with the software.  It's features seemed less than useful.

What I found useful was running an official licensed version of Passport Alchemy 3.0 on my 1999 Apple Macintosh G3 laptop, connected to the EiiiXS Turbo with SCSI & MIDI.
