I received my EmuSer with cable and it does not seem to work neither in EMXP in win xp nor on OSX with Wolframs new OSX EII editor. The only thing that happens is that the display on the EII shows "under control of Macintosh", the LED on Specialbutton lights up and then it hangs.

What can I do to find the fault? (Oscilloscope, multimeter, solderingiron)
My EII has serial 1188 and the serial on the Digital board is 1190. Main Boot and Scanner are both v.2.1.
Help appreciated.
Razo.

I guess the EII is not responding then. Are you using the newest version of EMXP? Is the EmuSer installed properly?

Early EIIs had an RS-232 interface installed, NOT a RS-422 (although it may be labelled as a such...)

If yours is one of these EIIs, communication isn't possible, I'm afraid. There *is* a kludge that can be installed to make the RS 232 a 422, but this is ULTRA techie stuff, and can't be done by a "normal" human being.

Maybe this helps?

Hi Elmbeatz,
mine is a serial no 1888 and I think serial no's above 990 should be ok? At least it has a Rev.1 Digital board.  Anyways, I think I will try to upgrade to Svanner EPROM v.3.1 (OS 3.1) and see if this helps, otherwise I will send it in for service.
