Hi All

My E1 has started to act up.

When I turn on the sampler all lights illuminate on the frontpanel and they stay on. No access to the drive happens.

According to the user manual page 4 this could be a failed floppy drive or interface.

My floppydrive is disconnected as I use a SD HxC drive which has been working fine until now. I have tested with a second HxC and replaced the floppy ribbon cable to no avail.

If the problem is the drive interface on the cpu board then which of the IC's should I look at and replace?:

IC44 Disk control
IC51 Disk & sustain
IC52 Disk control buffer
IC53 Disk & A/D
IC54-55 Disk timing
IC62 A/D, disk, mod select Misc.

The above IC's are mentioned in the service manual page 24.

Best regards

A tired Brian Smiley

I've had the E1 serviced at a pro shop. They replaced the PSU and had all the IC's reseated.

Now the E1 works flawlessly and better than when I bought her back in 2014 :-)

Best regards
