Post by: midipuppies on July 18, 2009, 07:53:21 PM
Hi all, I still can't figure out what this inetface is. I can't seem to upload any pix to the site either. Keep getting an 'upload folder is full contact admin' error. I have pictures of this thing, so if anyone is interested I can email them to you.
Hope to hear from you guys soon!

i've seen something like this before.

on consoles they have a pinout device where all the outputs are put through a plastic thing like that.  not 100% what they call those,  but it is something you would use if you need to take a whole bunch of outputs of a console out to one big cable

Hi guys,

The connector looks like an EDAC/Varelco type. I've seen these mods in the past where studios send all the inputs and outputs from multi-output units like the EIII to a patch panel. I'm guessing that inside that EIII, all the output jacks are either double-soldered to that connector or maybe the analogue outputs have even been re-routed directly to it. Only one way to find out...!
