Title: EII guide bushings
Post by: AlphaC on July 12, 2018, 06:48:29 AM
Hi

I'm fixing up a EII+ and I was wondering if anyone have a source for the keybed guide bushings?

Cheers,
Gisle

I believe the Oberheim Matrix 6 used the same key bushings you might have a better luck finding those.

Hi AlphaC,
I'm working on doing a conversion of a single bank EII to a dual bank EII+.
Could you post some detailed pictures of your digital board.
I'm trying to reverse engineer the change of going from a single to a dual bank memory using the Rev1 digital board.
Thanks,
Dana

Hi Dana

Thanks for the OM6 tip, I will look into that.

I guess you will be needing pictures of both sides of the board?

Yes that would be helpful but I think it has to do with different chip placed where there is a missing chip in my board for comparison.
I don't think that they would have made the effort to create a new board then have to turn around and kludge it to get it to work.
So I'm guessing that I have a chip that is different or one of my empty slots has a different chip in it.
This information has definitely been lost in tribal knowledge at Emu Systems.
Thanks,
Dana

Yeah that is definitely a plus model configuration.
I noticed that your drams are the 150ns variety.
I'm guessing the fact that the piggyback mounts where never soldered in that this is a high 1200 serial or even 1300 series serial number.
Did you take of the midi jacks and foot switch jacks?

Yes I removed them because of the level of corrosion on them. This synth seems to have been a victim of a basement flood or something similar. There was mud and dirt on the inside and alot of rust everywhere so I'm doing a full restoration. I'm in the process of replacing a lot of corroded ic sockets.

Hey AlphaC,
Any chance I can get some photos of the  underside of the digital board?
By the way how is your restore going?
Thanks,
Dana

Hi dfiorucci

Sorry for the late reply. Congrats on your successful conversion =)
Now we need to copy the two HD boards so we can have the DREM.

My restore is ongoing here: http://forum.vintagesynth.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=105483&sid=003120828f9e9898827faf0c899681d9 (http://forum.vintagesynth.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=105483&sid=003120828f9e9898827faf0c899681d9)

Hi Alpha,
Did you get your new label sorted out yet?
The guy that did the accurate reproductions is down to one or two left best get a hold of him if you need a new label.
