Hi Deft,

I am having a similar PAL related issue, but with IC 33, PAL22V10.

I've been trying on and off for a couple of years to reach a solution but haven't yet.

Perhaps we might be able to team up - you have a non working IC32, I have non working IC33. IF we can somehow copy and produce both of those PALs, then we both have a working machine again.

What do you think?

I was thinking of trying to enlist the assistance of a computer or electronic engineer to attempt to reverse engineer the PAl's there are some methods known as 'brute force' to extract the logic.

If anyone else on here can assist please feel free to jump in!

Cheers

I will try to copy my IC33 for you - i don`t have a programmer myself but will ask a friend of mine to do it. Will probably take some time to reach him and to do it.

Dr.C. wrote that "PALs are not protected" so theoretically it is possible to make a copy, but I have no idea how )

Hi Kirill,

Thank you very much for responding. You either have to have a very good programmer, or use the 'brute force method' where all the possible combinations are exercised and logged, then turned back into the PAL data. This is my limited understanding.

If there is some chance that your friend might be able to copy the PALs it would be hugely appreciated. I can repay them with some cash or beers or something to return the favour.

To clarify, IC33 is on the ucontroller board. PAL 22V10
THanks again

Thanks for the file, unfortunately I am not skilled enough to assess the data. But maybe it could be a good idea to ask the specialists at Batronix for help (batronix.com). They have been quite helpful in all the years, and they offer even a burning service (not only the gear). Helped me a lot with PAL chips for my Kurzweil K250, which they copied reliable and quite cheap. Maybe just send them the file and ask kindly for a first check, if this the data is plausible.

Well, I have some good news - I was able to burn a copy of IC33 and my EIII boots with it )

Unfortunately i cant make a copy of my IC32 - programmer is copying only 52% of it and then hangs, that proves for that my chip is corrupted, so I need to find a working donor to make a copy.
