Title: EIII does not want to be upgraded
Post by: mrk on July 30, 2008, 06:28:03 AM
Hello,

I upgraded my standard 4mb EIII with the "EBAY" RAS PAL chips to 8mb. The EIII still recognizes only 4mb. The RAS PAL chips are not the problem
because there where sent back and checked. I tried 4 sets of 8 identical 1mb SIMMS. The EIII checked them in pairs of 4MB in the diagnostic setup and are OK and compatible. What can be the problem? OS 2.24 Firmware 1.0.

Maybe the EIII 8mb users can inform me about their brand and type of SIMM in their EIII. The  service manual mentions  the use of 1Mx8DRAM 120ns SIMMS.  I want to find out if other types are excepted by the EIII.

Help appreciated any many thanks in advance.
