Title: Strange MIDI out issue
Post by: dvdborn on December 24, 2008, 03:40:27 AM
Yesterday I was reconfiguring my studio and decided to connect my EIII to the Doepfer Pocket Control which in turn is connected to my main sequencer the MPC3000.

The Pocket Control doesn't recognize any MIDI that the EIII sent to it. Hence, the MPC3000 didn't also receive any MIDI from the Pocket Control.

When I used other MIDI gear with the Pocket Control everything worked OK. I also used different MIDI cables, but without any succes.

When I connect the EIII directly to the MPC3000 everything works fine.

So this means that the EIII's MIDI out signal is different than all my other gear. Has anyone ever experienced the same problem where the MIDI out from the EIII wouldn't work with a specific MIDI device?

David

Hi Dr C,

Great to see you here on the forum. All is well with me. I hope the same for you.

Note for the other list members, if there's anyone that knows the EIII inside out then it has to be Dr C.

Cheers,
David
