Title: Solo Mode
Post by: PX-7 on June 08, 2009, 11:12:25 PM
Why do you think when I hit one single note on the EII,
after the 5th or 6th note, it drops out.   "But" when I put
the voice in Solo Mode,.... I have no problems.  Not one single drop out.

What does Solo Mode do exactly?   I'm worried something is wrong
with my EII.   After the 5th note drop out, the note will resume on the
7th note trigger and go for four more notes and then another dead note,
and the cycle continues.   Oh, and this happens over midi too.  Meaning if I trigger
the EII with an external hardware sequencer.  (emu command station),   as well
as physically hitting the same key on the EII.     I don't know if that makes sense?  I can try and rexplain it better if I need to...
Thanks

Hi, you've got a voice problem, wich can be due to a lot of things.
If you have this problem, shut the machine down and reboot it with another floppy.
The reason of this is that if your floppy is bad or your machine has been recalibrated by an idiot, the stupid datas will be on the floppy.
If you take another one, it may woek.

If this is not it, you have to go on the hardware. Put the jack plug into the channel one plu and play. If the sound is ok, got to channel 2, etc... If you find a bad channel, take off the S3528 of the considered channel and put it back in place. (Do I have to tell that the machine has to to be shut down...)

Retry and tell us.

Problem resolved.  Again, Doc.  You're right!  A bad disk.
Ok, I need new disks!  :-\

The note stealing thing went away right away.  So each
session with the EII, a new problem creeps up with the
old and corrupted disks I have in my possession.

Polyphony dropping out, and static voices, etc.  All because
my library is old and crappy.   Time for some fresh floppies.

Question:   Can both drives can be changed over to 3.5" drives?
Has anyone done this?

Thanks
