Title: Emulator II - Noise/Distortion after warming up
Post by: Tax-5 on May 29, 2016, 11:08:07 AM
I've been using the Emulator 2 (no HD or + Version) a few years now, but it started to sound odd.

When i load a bank, the Emulator works for 10-15 min. and then it begins to distort occasionally.
The signal is getting quiet and crackles (like turning a dusty volume knob up and down)...

I've read a few threads here, but it seems to be a different problem. What can i do? The E2 has no been
moved or anything. Filter/Amp Chips?

Look at the power supply connector, the one with the colored wires.
See under, the solders are maybe crackled.
Tke the soldering away and put new one.

Very good Idea. I already did that yesterday.
I disassembled the whole EII and saw that one/two soldering points are crackled.
I took the soldering away and put new one on the boards. I also refreshed one-two more, where i was thinking they could need it.

Took me an hour of work and was totally worth it.

I had the EII running for two hours yesterday and nothing distorted after that.
I'll try to record my current project today.. maybe the problem is fixed??
