Title: EMXP - creating CDROM for EIII Post by: dvdborn on October 02, 2008, 10:37:20 AM If I were to write a CD-ROM .ISO image that was created with EMXP for the EIII, which settings do I need to enter in Toast so that I can burn a CD-ROM that can be read with the EIII?
I created an EIII image, renamed it to .ISO and opened it in Toast. But Toast needs to know the following info: Pregap: Number of sectors Postgap: Number of sectors Sector Size: default is 2352 Bytes Scrambled: Yes/No I tried burning a CD-ROM with the default settings (0 sectors pre- and postgap, 2532 Bytes/Sector and not scrambled. But that CD-ROM didn't get recognized by the EIII. So does anybody knows which settings to use? Update: I also tried burning a CD in Disk Utility. This doesn't ask for any extra information. But again the CD-ROM was useless. David Title: Re: EMXP - creating CDROM for EIII Post by: esynthesist on October 02, 2008, 02:09:30 PM Can you try 2048 bytes/sector ?
I don't know about the other settings... I'm using Windows software, not Mac, so I don't have problems ;D (first time I can say something positive about Windows) ///E-Synthesist Title: Re: EMXP - creating CDROM for EIII Post by: dvdborn on October 02, 2008, 02:13:22 PM Hi E-Synthesist,
I also tried 2048 Bytes/sector. But that didn't work either. I'm going to try all the available options and see if one of them will work. Which software do you use under Windows? David Title: Re: EMXP - creating CDROM for EIII Post by: esynthesist on October 03, 2008, 02:40:56 PM I use Nero, without changing any of its proposed default settings. I simply choose "burn image" and "write", that's it.
I just checked the parameters of an original EmuIII CD-ROM. Again, I don't know about the pre/postgap parameters, but the bytes/sector parameter is definitely 2048 b/sector. Also I burn the images as ISO, not ISO/UDF or UDF... Title: Re: EMXP - creating CDROM for EIII Post by: dvdborn on October 05, 2008, 04:53:57 AM I tried Nero today to burn an EIII CD-ROM and low and behold it worked.
This is an excellent feature. I can now convert and backup my own sample library to a CD-ROM that the EIII can read. Amazing. David Title: Re: EMXP - creating CDROM for EIII Post by: esynthesist on October 05, 2008, 06:02:22 AM Allright !
Have fun. (still wondering though why Toast isn't producing a valid EIII cdrom...) Title: Re: EMXP - creating CDROM for EIII Post by: antenne on May 22, 2012, 01:52:47 PM Hello -
i just wanted to add my own experiences to the thread: I also tried Toast on my mac - and i couldn't get it to work no matter what i tried. I tried Nero express 6 on two different pc's - one didn't work and the other did. So - Nero seems to be a good choice, - with the right burner/pc.
