Title: SP12 Question Post by: Futureman on February 27, 2011, 10:39:30 PM I just recently bought a non working SP12 Turbo
I fixed it up, so that it works perfectly now (Bad Ram IC + a few other faults) , but now I've got one question for SP12 owners. Can you monitor the sample while recording etc? Sometimes on mine, the signal can be heard, but then it fades away etc.. other times, it's just barely heard in the background and thin + distorted. Cheers Mike Title: Re: SP12 Question Post by: Elmbeatz on February 28, 2011, 03:06:22 AM I think you cannot monitor the sample input.
Title: Re: SP12 Question Post by: gertie on February 28, 2011, 11:37:26 AM thats normal for emax1 and sp12, sp1200 - distorted sounding sample monitoring

I'll have a look at the schematics, but I can't imagine it would be too hard to implement on the SP12.. worst case scenario would be an op-amp, best case a resistor taking the signal from after the gain stage to the main output. I did find that Forat can do this mod for the SP12 & SP1200.. I'm sure it's not going to be too tricky. I'll report back. (Also, any reason we don't have a SP1200 & SP12 section here?) I think the reason is, that the SP-12 was originally called Drumulator II.. Title: Re: SP12 Question Post by: gertie on November 26, 2011, 09:14:33 AM any news futureman?
Title: Re: SP12 Question Post by: iloveemus on March 08, 2013, 01:05:19 PM forat has a service charging 175 for the mod, but any one been able to diy the mod?
couldn't you simple wire the sample input to the mixout jack? a few wires? |
