Title: Sonic differences between EII and EIII Post by: monkeyman on April 19, 2011, 06:42:58 AM I have a wonderful and amazing sounding EII and was wondering if many have done any sonic tests between the Emulator EII and Emulator EIII...
Are the filters different sounding? Does one sound warmer than the other? Does one sound more present and in your face than the other? Any experience out there with both machines?? Cheers Title: Re: Sonic differences between EII and EIII Post by: Dimensional Space on April 28, 2011, 02:44:55 PM I have a wonderful and amazing sounding EII and was wondering if many have done any sonic tests between the Emulator EII and Emulator EIII...

Title: Re: Sonic differences between EII and EIII Post by: seamonkey on April 12, 2013, 06:23:12 AM I had an EIII and loved it, however they are touchy and fragile beasts and despite not moving mine, I dealt with issues with it.
I acquired a EII+HD over a year ago and love it. It has a character only a EII has. It has a grittier sound than the EIII, and whatever you sample into it will have that character. I think the EIII really excelled at real instruments, especially strings. I think of it more as a soundtrack sampler and the EII as a working man's organic sampler, good for inserting into songs to cause the listener's ears to perk up and ask "what was that?". I would say the EIII has a richer full sound, and remember it samples in stereo. In the end it is difficult to put into words, for we all listen a bit differently. If given the choice I would not sell or trade my EII for a EIII, although I love it's sound. Hey it's an E-MU with analog filters. :) Title: Re: Sonic differences between EII and EIII Post by: Solaris on May 04, 2013, 01:07:19 AM I think general consensus is Eii are "better" sounding than EIII and easier to fix/service.
To get stereo take 2 Eii ! (This is what I did ) ::) http://eiiiforum.com/index.php?topic=2097.msg8238#msg8238 |
