Title: Alchemy Passport
Post by: mg73 on November 08, 2012, 11:28:13 AM
I´ve seen people using EIII and Alchemy with great  result
but I´m having problems and can´t understand what is wrong.

EIII ID#1
Internal CF ID#2
External CF ID#3

Mac Classic OS 7 ID#7
Mac HD ID#0

Direct connected with 25pin scsi cable

Scsi Probe 4.3 finds all scsi ID´s
EIII remote works fine(sees EIII scsi ID)

But Alchemy says "EIII not responding Check cables"" when I choose "Get sample" or "Get all"

ANy hints??

in the "Network" menu there is a sub-menu called "Instrument" -
have you selected "edit" here and set up the correct scsi id for your EIII ?

Yes I´ve done that.

It´s weird... The EIII is playing a sample twice when Alchemy  is searching over scsi.
ANd everything looks good Scsiprobe
I don´t have to put the EIII in any special mode right?
And I´m just supposed to chose "Get sound"or "Get all" in ALchemy?

It's been a while, but do you not also need MIDI set up to initiate the sample transfer over SCSI?..

Its very funny how things spread because I modified Alchemy 2.02 to 3.0 about 18 years ago !
No, there is no manual, I never had it, but if you find the 2.02 version, its the one !  ;D

Post by: wirefall on December 28, 2012, 01:00:53 PM
The manual is more than 250 pages, needs 20MB. Yahoo only allows files up to 5MB, so I've sent the pdf to Kenneth from theEMUs.com in hope he will share it on his site.

Meanwhile you could get it here for your convenience:

Edit: It is available on theEMUs.com now!

Enjoy! :)

Many thanks for this.
I have been looking for that manual quite some time !

You are welcome!  :) Glad to help you as I use your great EMXP quite often.

I have also been looking for a very long time for this rare bird, got this copy after heavy recherché from the US. Was from Rob from the old emulatorarchive, which seems to be gone now.
