Title: Emax OLED Post by: midipuppies on January 13, 2015, 05:18:06 PM Hi all, I asked this of the Yahoo Emax community, but I have had no replies...
Can anybody suggest a certain model of oled for the Emax/II? I am hoping to find something that does not require drilling and/or grinding of any kind. Soldering a few jumper wires is not really an issue. Just looking for the latest info on choices. Thanks in advance, Jay Title: Re: Emax OLED Post by: who on January 13, 2015, 08:12:14 PM I think this is what you're after:

Title: Re: Emax OLED Post by: midipuppies on January 14, 2015, 08:09:19 AM Yes I've seen those before. The guy that made those videos is one of the moderators on the Emax Yahoo group. They did a group buy of custom displays that had the pins on the end, not the top. That's why I was asking that group if any other manufacturers has been seen since then with the specs needed for a drop in replacement.
I will most likely get the model they used but without the pins in the correct spot. I will have a better look around, as displays are getting cheaper and more plentiful by the day, to see if I can find an exact match, but it looks as if quite a few people have spent a lot of time and effort doing the same - kind of like the search for a new EIII PSU :) Jay Title: Re: Emax OLED Post by: emax2 on January 28, 2015, 12:47:24 PM be very careful,

Title: Re: Emax OLED Post by: lunatic on February 22, 2015, 08:49:55 PM I had this on my EII. I solved it by replacing the hex inverter with an LS chip.

Im a serious novice when it comes to electronics but where can i find where the hex inverter is? what does it look like ? where is it located? also what is a ls chip and where can i buy one from? Thanks Title: Re: Emax OLED Post by: lunatic on February 24, 2015, 08:49:05 AM The inverter is a chip an part of the logic board. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverter_%28logic_gate%29
The one I used for the EII was sold on ebay as this gibberish on the display seems to be a known issue. Unfortunately i don't know where the inverter is located in the emax and i am quite a noob too, when it comes to ICs and so on. It just happened that i can solder. Never had issues with SP-12's when changing display and haven't heard about emax troubles either. Here is where i got that inverter thing from: http://eiiiforum.com/index.php?topic=2619.msg9910#msg9910 Good luck to you! |
