Stop everything !
Take off the power plug, dismount the power supply and look under it, the solderonds are certainly burnt at the connectoe place.
Take off the solder, re-solder, verify your job, verify your verification, verify again, verify if the connectors are not burned, replug the connectoer, verify your job, verify your verification, verify again, put power plug and try.

Thx a lot
had a suspicion it must be the power supply.
How about replacing the power supply completely.
Iread the MeanWell RT-65 C is the part that´s suitable.
Any experiences ??

Hi!

There's info on the meanwell in this forum - try a forum search.
I successfully installed a 60-C (iirc) in one of my EIIs. Be aware that this won't supply the floppy drives. It works with a hxc floppy emulator though, as it only needs 5V (again - iirc).

Thx,
that means if you want to keep the floppy drives the only solution is cleaning and soldering ?

You can use this Power Supply and keep the FDDs:

thx
but how difficult is it, once you`ve got this item, to make the necessary alterations ?
Soldering is not my premium skill.

Are you an idiot, or what ? Sorry, but when I see this, I loose my temper.
Did you take off the power supply and looked under, at the Molex connectors, if the solderinds are okay ?

If not, take off the old solder and re-solder. If you don't know how to, go to see a tv repair shop.

Did you look if your molex connector (the one having colored wires is not "burned" (browned) where the yellow wires go ?

Didi you do this, or not ?

Thx for your advice but watch your language.

You are talking about replacing power supply, with all the expenses and the risks you take to ruin this machine while it would be so simple just to check these points before.
Don't you think its no enough to get angry ? Where do you think I gave you this advice, from ? Its about fifteen years of fixing E-Mus, from E1 till SP-12s, by hundreds (I used to fix sometimes more than ten machines on the same day. Some breakdowns were reccurent, like the one on your machine. I don't tell "this is it !", I wouldn't be so arrogant, but this has to be checked before any other attempt.
Now, if you do'nt want to follow advices, don't ask for them, just ask, insted of "My Emu II+ suddenly doesn`t boot any more.
All the lights on panel are flickering and the drives are running.
Any clues whats the matter ??"
Thx in advance
, ask : "I want to change the PSU on my E-mu. Any idea anout the supplier, etc... ?
In this case, I'll pass my way... and its what I'm doing now.
