noise is fading away so now and than DROPOUTS ,over all the channels the same, mean output including ,but channel 5 is making a distorded sound and channel 6 channel is death , >:(

and where is that 0 channel you all ask ! on the board ?? i dont know

When you look at the back of the machine, you've got jack plugs cprresponding to the different voices (re: 1 to 8).
In fact, its 0 to 7, in binary, so its the channel corresoponding to the output 1. This is a very touchy channel because there are FET circuits wich commute this channel to reproduce signal, or to sample, in sample mode.
This where as well, there are all the sampling circuitry.

i have try headcleaner to clean some sockets with the  IC`s still in the socket ,and until now no more sound dropouts ;D ,and i have got some edvice from a speacialist he saying
dont ever use contact spray you make things very bad it shrink the socket  away in side......and the rest of your E-MU board headcleaner is the the best  way!!

What do you mean by : headcleaner ?  Shampoo ?

have you ever heard of headcleaner that can be used for heads of  a taperecorder
alcohol substance ,but i take it al back becourse the dropouts  trouble are back so

I also used alcohol stuff. I think it's called "isopropylethanol". Worked fine.

I cross my fingers for you that your issues are solved. But I think, if you didn't take out the ICs and cleaned the ICs pins AND sockets, it might be that soon the issues come back... Let's hope they won't...

and did you remove the board out of the E-MU  also otherwise you would be able to pull all the ic out of the sockets ,

No, I didn't take the boards out.
I have a rev 1 (no piggyback board to be removed). I took out the power supply, as it is located above the output board. That's all (of course, all molex connectors, too). With it removed, you have access to all ICs. If you're going to do the un-/ replugging procedure, be careful (don't destroy any ICs or bend their pins), use an IC calipper and stay grounded (i span a blank wire from my water-tap which I touched now and then while doing it).

I use some KF-F2. How are your dropouts sounding like ?

Did you take a look at the power supply connectors, the soldering side, the connector where comes the cone with the yellow, red, black etc... wires.

It often happens that after a long while, the solderings are crackeled and bringing intermittent dropouts.

The is an EXCELLENT tech in Hollan, Ruud Vand Dre MAATEN, he should be in Zveindrecht or Papendrecht.

Check it !

i did ask ruud v/d maaten on the phone for his help but ruud says!, am  no more into emu stuf ,so thats  à bummer  :(my emulator is now in a repairshop   keep you guys inform what was the bug in the system  .am sorry that i can aser you questions dr.c   but i let you know whats goining on after i have the opinion of the repairman when he is done and fixt it ,i hope
