Title: How many amp does the original hd consume
Post by: brian_ronn on November 11, 2019, 05:03:08 AM
Hi Wizards

My PSU has gone south.

Do you know how many apms the EIII original 40 Mb harddrive consume?

My technician tries to figure out the amps needed when the HD is replaced with a scsi2sd.

Best regards Brian

A scsi2sd needs much less Ampere as a HardDrive.

Hi Wolfram

Yes I'm aware of the less AMPs for the scsi2sd. My technician needs to find out how much or less amp is needed so he can design a replacement psu. The original specs is 15 Amp.

Best regards Brian

So fare as I remember 160mA. It is so less that you can run it without a power connector, just by the power of a SCSI connector.
Your technician can measure it. It does not need much more power with traffic on it.
