Title: EMXP MIDI transfer MAC
Post by: sobtek on January 04, 2020, 01:51:52 PM
Hi all

first post here so apologies if this has been asked already, I tried searching but didn't find much.

I have an Emax 1 SD with a floppy drive and was wondering if it was possible to directly, send patches to the memory via EMXP and MIDI. The manual is a bit confusing about this... Otherwise is there an easy way of getting new patches on the Emax (without the SD drive floppy)?

Thanks a lot!

Transferring complete sound banks (patches) to/from the Emax is only possible via RS422, not via MIDI.
But individual samples (audio/WAV files) can be transferred by means of MIDI.
This is a constraint of the Emax operating system.
RS422 is supported by EMXP but you'll need to build or acquire an EmuSer USB-RS422 interface, and the Emax will have to run at least the SE version of the operating system.

As Esynthesist say you need an RS422 Interface (EMuSer), but for OSX is a native solution too.

I have seen that video but how do you get the software? I have sent him emails and get no response?
