Title: EIII keyboard fans replacement
Post by: lio.ws on February 12, 2010, 11:23:39 AM
Hi,

I would like to replace the fans on my EIII keyboard.
I was looking for the original one (sanyo 109R0812L402) but it's pretty hard to find.

Could somebody suggest me another model ?

Thx for your help !
lionel.

Here are some reviews: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article689-page1.html

The original fan's specs: http://electronic-components.globalspec.com/datasheets/75/SanyoDenkiAmerica/F7D30386-F5A3-4522-BC2C-3DB2DB18865C

The EIII Rack uses different fans.

EIII Keyb:

Sanyo 12v DC 0.06a 80x25mm Fan 109R0812L402 220531-001

EIII Rack:

Sanyo (60218)
Brushless
DC Mini Ace 25
Model: 109E0912L402
DC 12V 0,07A

As for replacement: use a silent 80mm fan. It should have the same airflow ca 40M3/H = aprox 23.00 SCFM and also look at power consumption!

My pick at this moment would be the Sharkoon Silent eagle 2000. It uses 1,44 watts as to 1 watts by the original, but is more silent. Don't go for "Open structures" like "Frameless".

I wonder if it could hurt to slow down the speed, in order to get more silence. I've done this in many computers. However, the EIII has no temp monitor. Any thoughts on this?

Anyone who has replaced the fans already, please share your info.

Regards,

Peter.
