Title: Bank Conversion EII --> Ensoniq ASR-10
Post by: Elmbeatz on April 21, 2008, 10:02:39 AM
Hi Folks!

Sorry for being a little off topic again, but I'd like to know, if anyone kows a way to convert Emulator II banks into Ensoniq ASR-10 banks.

Thanx for answering and greetings,
Elm.

If the ASR-10 reads DPX-1 disks that could be a solution. But then you have to get hold of a DPX-1......Hmmm.

The ASR-10 dosn't read the DPX-1, but the DPX-1 supports MIDI sample dump standards, so you can get the EII sounds in to yur ASR-10. I just got my hands on a DPX-1 so im gonna try it with my S-1000. Let you know how it works out.

Just for your information (as Elm already knows this  ;) ):
There's also this workaround:
1/ convert the EII bank to EIII format with EMXP
2/ convert the EIII bank to Ensoniq ASR-10 with Chickensys Translator
(I assume that the EIII bank created by EMXP must be copied to an EIII-formatted removable hard disk like a ZIP disk or a CD-ROM, because Translator can probably only import EIII banks from such a disk...)
