Title: DPX 1 Post by: Syncla on August 15, 2010, 11:15:58 AM What price is ok for an Oberheim DPX 1?
Title: Re: DPX 1 Post by: captainjc on August 15, 2010, 11:54:20 AM I have 3 and I've paid between 75 and $200 for them. Worth more if it comes with some disks.

I paid between 100 and 150 EUR for each - I have two of them.Try to get one with all extensions: 8 outputs, SCSI/HD interface and... the RS422 interface. If you find one with RS422, sell it to me ;D The price I have paid was for the basic versions - no extensions at all... (E-Synthesist advised me to buy it AT ONCE when I got the offer) - I also paid 150 EUR (I guess..) Oh man now I've contributed to it... Anyway, Elm, do you find the 8 outs useful? It's always intrigued me, but I don't really know if I would have the patience to be creating the preset disks on the EII, assigning the outs and then moving over to the DPX? At that point, why not just use the EII? I guess it could be useful for playing live? Any way, curious how you might use them. I only use the main out, as I do on the EII, too. It's cool to just HAVE the fully upgraded DPX version (AND the 2.2 OS). Yeah, I guess it's (was) useful for complex live setups (different routing for different voices and such...). |
