Title: looking for OMI vol1_2_3
Post by: Electro disco club on February 25, 2013, 07:25:08 AM

  Hello,

I've missed this night the auction for the original OMI collection on ebay ( left more than 200$...)

Does someone would share the collection for some money? iso?

Q up arts can sell the cd, but i'm wondering if it is the exact 3 CD OMI collection.

 Thanks

Which samples exactly are you referring to?

Problem with that statement is that 90% of EII owners don't bother sampling or creating new soundbanks, with a lot of taking rather than giving, y'know what I mean? ;)

I don't mean just swapping, I mean actually 'creating' and trading custom soundbanks.

It's a bl**dy shame actually. Many times I've sampled into EII from other synths to find the EII sound better than the source...

I tried to prompt trading of custom sounds ages ago and got loads of contact, but all were the well known libraries or private collections created back in the 80's by original owners. None were by current owners that had actually had a go at sampling and creating new banks.

Using them as library playback machines is just a waste...  :(

You're right, in my case I also have sampled into My Emax II from other synths to find the EMax II sound better than the source, but as you rightly pointed out in your previous post that many people prefer to have the samples already prepared, incidentally do not blame them considering that not everyone has the technical knowledge to sample like you or me or others in this forum, or prefer to seek famous sounds of Music Bands known.
I agree, however, using them as library playback machines is just a waste, but not for us ;)
