Title: EIIIXP Repair in the Dallas /Fort Worth area?
Post by: tmenikos on August 13, 2017, 05:20:16 AM
I love my EIIIxp rack, but I have not used it for a long while as I am not a Keyboardist, but I keep this for the occasional use.

I tried running it and it wont recognize the internal hard drive any longer.
It may be dead.
It will still boot from the floppy and it reads the extenal CD-ROM.

I am not an electronics guy... so if there is a place I can send it to have it looked over and fixed...updated etc I would love that.

Obviously I am open to shipping it elsewhere but shipping  damage is a little bit of a concern.

Thanks for any help.

If its boot from floppy drive and can load sounds from CD-ROM, it sounds like your HD is dead.
Not a big problem, just buy a scsi2sd v5 drive and replace the HD.

sounds easy enough.
Is there anything like formatting to do?
I do have the manuals some where... LOL

Any... not being a computer kind of guy... and particularly with the older equipment that is more Mac Based... I just don't know what all to do in prep for... or after installation of the new drive.
