Still no progress.
I built a cable to connect the EII to the CDS3 and as a result the display on the remote goes blank.
If I disconnect the 500kHZ line the CDS starts but still does not communicate with the EII. Very strange. Is there anyone who can confirm that the CDS cable pinout is as follows (source: EmulatorArchive):
CDS3 EII
Pin 1 3
Pin 2 11
Pin 3 nc
Pin 4 nc
Pin 5 7
Pin 6 nc
Pin 7 9
Pin 8 10
Pin 9 2
Btw. I found something really funny while dumping the CDS3 EPROMs. At the end of the terminal software for the remote you can read this:
COPYRIGHT 1986 PRAGMATIC COMPUTERS, INC. FUCKETH YE ALL WHO TAMPERITH WITHIN
Hi Wintermute
I know your post is a while ago but I've been able to find a CDS3 to EII cable. My friend had one and he has meassured the wiring between the pins. Here goes the pin layout:
CDS3 EII
1--------GND-------- 7
4-----------------------11
5-----------------------3
7-----------------------9
8-----------------------10
9-----------------------2
I hope this is useful to you.
Best regards
Brian
