Hey list -

i just replaced the original fans in my EIII kb with these:

http://www.noiseblocker.de/en/Multiframe80.php

model M8-S2

installation is smooth - the original screws fit.
The new fans come with a smaller plug, so a minor modification was neccesary.

now, with these and the cf-card my EIII is really quiet - its a beautifull thing  Cheesy

Hey Kim

Thanks for the tip.  I followed your lead and also installed these fans.  I can say they work really well and are quieter than the stock ones.  I can't say they are REALLY quiet, but it is better.  My studio is pretty quiet!!

I'm thinking about maybe lowering the RPM's with resistors.  Has anyone done this?

Got CF cards too - one in the bowels and a dual in the floppy slot.  All I need now is an LED display and I'm FULLY PIMPED OUT!  Grin

pot.

My electronic supplier had a little thing that you attach to on of the fan screws
and it had a sensor and a couple of smd transitors etc, really small
and you just insert it in the voltage supply to the fan
and then the fan´s RPM is heat depended.
It costed like 5€.

I will try them in of my EIII when I open it up next time...

Hi

The shop is called Tema elektronik.
They don´t have any website
they are custom made for them.
But they don´t look so complicated
anyone with some electronic designing knowledge
would be able,not me then.
