Some years ago I built one good EIII from two semi-functioning units. The "good" EIII after being reliable for many years has just stopped booting (mid 2019). Suspected oxidised chip legs or bad chip on CPU board (2). PSU voltages measure good. This KB has 13 good voices. I would like to fix it but ill health means I need to simplify my life. So, I offer the parts of this EIII and the donor EIII to the community. I am visualizing a fair price for buyer and seller. I am located in New Zealand but international postage is not an issue, and I will pack all parts with utmost care.
1. Manuals
- EIII Service Manual original with UST disk (Universal Sound Test) in folder
- EIII Reference Manual x 1 in folder
- EIII Tutorial Manual x 2 in folder
2. EIII KB "A" (reliable until recent refusal to boot)
- PSU good on all voltages
- front panel board all good - new OLED yellow display installed
- output & relay board known good
- SCSI flash card boot drive known good
- microcontroller board (1) thought good (8MB onboard all good)
- CPU board (2) thought to have recent issues (see intro above)
- ADC board (3) known good
- voice boards (4 & 5) have 13 functional calibrated voices prior to recent no boot
3. EIII KB "B" (old donor unit)
- PSU good on all voltages
- front panel board condition unknown (no invertor)
- output & relay board known to have issues
- no boot drive
- microcontroller board (1) condition unknown (4MB onboard)
- CPU board (2) condition unknown
- ADC board (3) condition unknown
- voice boards (4 & 5) condition unknown but expect at least 4 good voices per board
