Very sad about Hector. Not a good week for musicians passing away...
I heard some of his new album and it sounds excellent. I'll be ordering it.

Here's another one to add to the list of famous EIII users: Daft Punk

They mention the EIII in this article: http://mixonline.com/mag/audio_daft_punk/

Excerpt:
"To get those sounds, the pair uses many vintage keyboards, including Korg, Roland and Moog gear from the '70s. “We use the big ones that were used in the '70s, like the Juno. It depends on how you use it — if you put a distortion effect on a Juno, you can't tell it's a Juno.” Their main synths include a TR-909, TR-808, Juno-106, ARP Odyssey, E-mu 3 and AMS Phasers."

That's one hell of great list.

I'm guessing that each EIII sold in France included an address card with your name on it.  Smiley
As an EIII owner you had to have it serviced at one point or another.

BTW, Dr C., shouldn't Laurent Boutonnat also be listed?
I saw footage of him using an EIII and EII in his home studio at the time of the Anamorphosée album.

You would not imagine what a mess was in the company where I worked. Most of the time, I never had any warranty card, just nothing. Anyway, the client just had to see the boss, and he didn't evan have to justify anything because he was going out with his machine fixed, but also, the complete CD Rom sets, or an SP1200, or a K250 Kurzweil...
Anyway, it was kinda hard to ask Vangelis to pay a repair of 500 USD when he bought an E1, E2, E3, Complete Moog systems, PPGs, Kurzweils, mixing console, etc... lets be serious...

Paul Haslinger (ex Tangerine Dream, Underworld Movie Soundtrack, etc) had an EIII rack. Spotted in a photo of his studio from 1999.

Simon Boswell, composer of movie scores, is another EIII-user.
