Hello E-mu fans, I'm a huge Emulator/Emax fanatic, and i'd like your opinions on what Emulator sounds the best. Thanks  Wink

EII of course, but the EI very special at all. (can hurt me to sell mine many years ago)

The EIII is a great machine, but not so special in sound.

But nothing at all, you MUST have all of this family!!!!!!!! (or more of them)

I agree with Syncla - get them all !!

The EII is to me the best sounding of the bunch, but the Emulator has something very nice as well. I wish it had an envelope for the amp though - but that is part of it's charm; being so amazingly simple I mean :-)

My only Emu's are a E1, E2 and a SP12turbo (used to own a E6400ultra)

Sonically, the E1 has such a great tone and 'clunk' to its sound.
Closer to a mellotron than a sampler.. Lol

I also wish the E1 had dual adsr's etc (I guess a gen mod then)

That would be a wicked machine.

I am now loving my E2 more than ever since I installed HxC. Such a joy to use now.
Sonically it's great, but not as solid sounding as the E1.
