Hi freaks!
Searched the forum but did't find anything...

Can anybody tell me what files are required for the HxC Foppy Emulator in an Oberheim DPX-1?
I'll shortly have an HxC device which I plan to install in my DPX.

What I want is to have / convert all the EII banks on the HxC-SD.

Thanks for any tips,
Elm.

HxC connected to DPX1 and want to load .eii files -> first you need to convert it to *.dpx format by e2todpx utility from E-Synthesis.

Hi Elm,
I have the DPX-1 with the HxC floppy emulator installed. I am terrible at these things, and have done this many months ago, but I seem to recall you have to install a program in your computer from the HxC site, which you must use to convert the files (even if they are already dpx files) to the HxC format. Once you have done this, you save the sounds on the SD card and you are ready to go. The program works very fast and you can convert the files in groups of dozens (you select them with your mouse) or so.

Ciao

Hi again!

Today I tried to install the HxC Rev F into my DPX-1.

The SD Card contained the config file, and all HFE files were made from *.EII files (also using this overlay file).
Powering on, I realized that the loading LED of the 5,25 Drive immediately turned and stayed on. the HxC also turned on, and I also could flip through the files, but after selecting a "disk" and then pressing "Load disk" on the DPX, nothing happened.

Huh

Did I make wrong jumper settings (I tried some out, most logical would be drive A0, wouldn't it?)

Can anybody point me in the right direction??

Best,
Elm.

P.S: I'm terrible at these things, too   Embarrassed

Oh, yea, thanks!

EDIT:

I've been on that forum and found out that you have to "flip" the floppy cable to the HxC over! Now it works wonderfully! Also the 5.25 drive works again as it should!

Oh really?

That's strange. Without messing with the jumper settings or such mine works as well with the big drive connected (as I said, that one still works, too!).
It's practical, cause you can still load "physical" EII disks. But if you don't need it, who cares.
Congrats on getting it up running!
