Hi all, I asked this of the Yahoo Emax community, but I have had no replies...

Can anybody suggest a certain model of oled for the Emax/II? I am hoping to find something that does not require drilling and/or grinding of any kind. Soldering a few jumper wires is not really an issue. Just looking for the latest info on choices.

Thanks in advance,

Jay

Yes I've seen those before. The guy that made those videos is one of the moderators on the Emax Yahoo group. They did a group buy of custom displays that had the pins on the end, not the top. That's why I was asking that group if any other manufacturers has been seen since then with the specs needed for a drop in replacement.
I will most likely get the model they used but without the pins in the correct spot.
I will have a better look around, as displays are getting cheaper and more plentiful by the day, to see if I can find an exact match, but it looks as if quite a few people have spent a lot of time and effort doing the same - kind of like the search for a new EIII PSU Smiley

I had this on my EII. I solved it by replacing the hex inverter with an LS chip.

The inverter is a chip an part of the logic board. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverter_%28logic_gate%29

The one I used for the EII was sold on ebay as this gibberish on the display seems to be a known issue. Unfortunately i don't know where the inverter is located in the emax and i am quite a noob too, when it comes to ICs and so on. It just happened that i can solder. Never had issues with SP-12's when changing display and haven't heard about emax troubles either. Here is where i got that inverter thing from: http://eiiiforum.com/index.php?topic=2619.msg9910#msg9910

Good luck to you!
