I'm a hot dog !

« on: August 08, 2009, 01:32:10 AM »

A guy called me, in trouble with his Mac and Performer.
After at least one hour, we finally arrived at the "Save as..." window.
I told him : "Now, type the name you want to give to your file"
I hear him then on the phone, labourously typing and spelling at the same time : "The-name-you want..."
I stopped him and tell : "Hey ! What are you typing ?"
"Well, what you told me to type !"
"But What ?"
You told me to type : "The name you want to give to your file"

I began to become a bit nervous...

After explaining him all the subtilities of names, we finally arrived at the point where he had to type the "Enter" key...

- What key ?, he asks.
- The "Enter" key...
- I don't see any enter key
- Its a big key on the right side, looking like a "L" upside down, we call it as well "Chariot return"
- But, I don't have any charriot on my computer !
- I know, but its like if you want to go to the next line when you type a text, to jump at the next line for instance !
- But, I am not typing a text !, he answers
Almost at the edge, like feeling grabbing an oxygen mask, I told him :
- I KNOW you are not typing a text, but have you ever typed a text on a computer ?
The guy answers :
- Yes, but not on this one...

YES ! I had an idiot like this, wich had an E2 and bought an Emax. Since the diskettes were bigger, he folded them in four to put them into the Emax floppy reader.
He ruined it.

TOTALLY !

Another one : a guy wich was the Fairlight distributor in France asked his secretary to put the Fairlight II diskettes in a safe place. She has put them in a folder so she perforated them (punch I think, is the right them).

I GARANTEE THE AUTHENTICITY

You want another one, wich happened to ME :

A guy called me, furious, saying that we were crooks, wanting to sale disquettes by dozens. I asked what was wrong and he said he has an EIII and when he wants to save banks, when the machine asks him to put diskette #2 he was putting the same one, and again the same for diskette #3, etc... that he did'nt need to buy dozens of diskettes.
I asked him if he has tried to reload the banks by using his diskettes and he answered that he didn't have time to loose wich such a stupid answer...
