Hi all,

Im Nick from Bristol In England and I am so happy becase I have just bourght an EMU Emulator II+ HD. I have to go pick it up and need to make a case for it becase i know these girls dont like to be bashed around with there chips being socket mounted and all.

THere is 1 question i really need answering fast though. What are the dimentions of the EMU II +HD? I need the maxiumum (length, width and  height) if anyone is willing to lay their tape measure on one of these.

Also can anyone estimate the weight of one?

Thanks so much and as soon as i get it I will try make some more video's for youtube!!!!

Regards all
Nick

19 x 40 x 7

front to back x side to side (or end key to far end key plus the edges) x height

^^ this is in inches

i would guess it is about 50 - 70 lbs.  One person can lift up an EII, but two people is best.

can't wait to see your EII+ vids!

Congrats on the purchase Nick. Just for info, I picked mine up from Luton and drove it all the way back to the North West with no problems occurring in transit.... If you're picking it up, just drive carefully and you shouldn't need a case for it.... just ask the seller to put a 5.25" floppy in the FDD if possible.

Yes i have moved them around a bunch and they are not that delicate in my estimation.
Having changed a pile of ic's i have to use a puller and a bit of tug to get each chip out of its socket so i don't think they pop out so easily with normal movement. the disk drives are more delicate and yes do have a disk in the drive can help keep it from too much jostling about.
the power supply seems well bolted up but i would do a check on the power connections or have a tech look as this because it is such a common problem. there are threads hear on it of course.

Congrats and much fun.

Cheers
