51 years old , My main job is FOH engineer. I also mix & master for bands with high class gear (Manley , Crane Song ...).
That being said my original passion is synths & samplers.
My ears during all this time has been trained to all sort of "analytic" listening.
But ... It is still a mystery to me : When I sample & play with my modified E3XP (now with analog inputs) every sound feels more organic , I can hear some frequency changes (much low end depending on the source materials) but there is some kind of voodoo inside Rossum boxes !
Does it come from converters ? Transpose algos?
Feel free to comment , I am curious to hear some experts or just aficionados of the brand.
