Hi

I'm new to the wonderful world of EII as I bought myself some trouble in form of a broken EII and a DPX-1. So I'm a new member on this forum but been sampling for the last 25 years or so. My Emax has never broken down - apart from the discdrive which I've changed a couple of times - and my ESi32 is still going strong (bought it new when it came out). BUT NOW TO BUSINESS!

The trouble is as follows:

voice 1: some static as i press a key
voice 2: plays the sample but not the correct pitch and only every second time
voice 3: as above
voice 4-8: fully functional - and what a sound!!!!

So - the machine has 5 useable voices but I would really want them all to work. I've tried out some trix on the voiceboard but to no effect. It doesn't seem to be there the problem is located. Perhaps someone here knows what is wrong or could point me in the right direction in the digital domain as I'm a newbie in that field...

I'm no tech, but with problems like these, I would first recommend the "EII debutant procedure"  Grin Grin Grin
Which is to unplug, clean and then reseat EVERY IC and all connectors on both EII boards. A pain but worth it. Stay grounded doing this and be careful.

First : take off the S352 and put them back, before doing this everywhere.

Thanx for the quick replies.

I've done both of your tips and found that when I move around the circuits called B8508 the problem moves around in the voices. So I've narrowed it down and voice 1-4 is now fully functional and the rest of the B8508's are broken.

What is this ic and where can I get hold of it?

Btw - anyone got a schematic of this darling?

I've reassembled the EII at the moment so I can't really check the IC-numbers but they're located next to the TL084's on each voice. If I remember correctly IC68A and B is the one I'm asking about.

I've located the servicemanual but yes -  I got a FTP.
