YES, it works..!! and it works perfectly! (EIII Rack, 8MB, OS, 2.42). The only thing I have to adjust is under MIDI setup : Thru: switch to Echo Opposite (Off does not work from unknown reason).

Oh, this is a bright day...

That's great news  Cheesy

Is it possible to provide me with some of the SysEx messages so I can try and make the EIII communicate with a Windows/Linux PC?

I tried some variations from the EMAXII protocol, adapting the device ID, but had no succes.

There are several ways to read the messages, e.g. Midi-monitor from an U20/U220, or MidiOx software.

Regards,

Peter.

Of course, with pleasure!... I will monitor it with the MidiOx... It would be a fantastic thing to have it working also under Win, and - even better - under Linux... !!

Best wishes,

When EIII RemoteController launches, it transmits to EIII:

 SYSX: F0 18 03 07 00 0A F7

The 6 modules transmitted from EIII RC (Master, Sample, Preset Man., Digital Proc., Preset Def., Analog Proc.)

Tried this too, but the remote soft didn't work!

The little midi-remote-keybord from the tools menu sends notes to the eiii, but the (remote-) display is still empty and the remote-functions doesn't matter anything to the EIII.
I tried "Wait for EIII" and "Beginn macro controll", but nothing happens.

Where can i see the version# of the remote soft?

What have i to setup in the EIII and the Remote-Soft?

Did you do this adjustment in the MIDI setup of the Remote Controller : Thru: switch to Echo Opposite..? When I leave it Off - which is default - it does not work..!

...and you have the EIII connected bi-directionally to the Mac, I suppose..?

...and are you using the latest OS (2.42) in your EIII..? EIIIX needs at least OS 1.31 for the Remote Controller.

Also:
 1. Check MIDI cables and interface

2. Make sure that the EIII SCSI ID (MASTER/GLOBALS/Disk Utilities, 0 ) and the Remote Controller IDs (Control Menu) both match !!!

Make sure thet the MIDI port on the Remote Controller is set correctly.

Thanks for the pdf, lubb!

Question to all:

Is there anywere in the world a spec-sheet with all sysex data?

Remote is fine, but "only" a frontpanel simulation. Of course you can record the "touch"-sequences, but then you have about 5 to 10 F0...F7 Strings.
I three a direct access to the parameters possible?

Emulatorarchive said "no"...
But maybe it's out there somewhere.
Unfortunately the EIII was released one year later than the release of De Furia's MIDI System Exclusive Book.
