Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
Long time lurker/1st time poster here.

Think that in the coming few days I might be able to get my hand on a Eii. Wanted to know please what I should look out for when giving it the initial once over whilst in the guys house. ie checking all the voices work etc.

Its a CDROM model, would I be right in saying that this should have the RS422 connection so I could use Emuser one day?

I would also love to get my hands on a copy of the "Universe of Sounds" (volumes 1 and 2) and "Northstar Gold Universe volume 3". I do have some as i to believe rare CD samples of History of Roland, Best Service KultSampler and a lot lot more.

Hope your all doing well and any response would be greatly welcomed.

Many Thanks

Okay, NICE  Shocked

This does mean, that the EII has a RS422 interface. (assumed that the cds3 works with the EII).

Yeah, make sure that all voices work well, and that both drives function properly.

P.S.: CDS3 : very very cool!!

Make sure it's been switched on for a while before you get there, just to give the PSU a good run in case it's not been used for some time.

Check display backlight (likely to have gone) and that all LCD characters display correctly on both lines. Replacement LCD displays are not easy to source without modification. Backlights not as difficult, sometimes found on Ebay.

Obviously a full check of the keyboard, 8 voices, buttons and sliders.... it's common for keys, buttons and sliders to be intermittent but can usually be cleaned and improved without always needing replacement.

Nice find BTW.  Wink

Thanks for the replies guys,

Now......
It seems that one voice doesnt work and hes trying to fix it (hes  a tech) and not sure hes getting very far or has the time.

I really need the keyboard for a session this week!

Could I buy it with one voice not working?

I dont think I would ever really need to play 8 keys in a row.

Am I missing something fundamental here Embarrassed

Or could I get by with 7.

I could always get it fixed at a later date.....

Thanks

You can buy it, as you can disable the nonworking voice-channel.
