Downgrading EIIHD to regular

I'm trying (honest!) to downgrade this unit from the HD model to a unit with the SD HxC and one floppy drive.
I need a new main and scanner rom. Can anyone hook me up? I have disconnected all the relevant HD hardware and put the Zilog back in but I can't get it to boot. I don't even have the HxC connected at the moment. I have tried every jumper setting on the floppy, but it never gets past displaying the software version on the disc. It reads that and that's it.
I really want to get this project done. It's been in pieces on my dining room table for months!
