are there any kind of quality losses when using the DPX for transposing???
I consider the DPX as a rack mount EII without editing possibilities (except for the Filter frequency).
It sounds EXACTLY like the EII, as it's got the same output board (technically spoken). The only processing it does with EII banks is a conversion to 12 bits, as that's the DPX architecture. Sometimes it even sounds better. The SSM filters are the same. You can't hear a difference.
And transposing sounds dope, as you would expect it. Superb!
...what kind of outboard effects do you use for your SP Drumsounds???=))
First, I use the SP's individual outs. EQ and mix all sounds in my Phonic Helix 24 Board. Use its internal effects as I like, as well as several reverberators (Alesis Midi I,II,III Micro III). Then subgroup them through a chain of Alesis 3630 comp., Typ C exciter, as well as a behringer 1951 EQ. Then send the group through the master insert which consists of an old behringer limiter and a Technics SH9010 vintage parametric EQ.
I have another group with a Roland DEP-5 (
lechz) and a Yamaha GC2020 comp which I usually use to record all the instruments in an overdub manner.
