That's pretty expensive for a non-working unit !

It has been painted black... Don't really like that - the EII in black looks better.

I'm also wondering what the 3.5 disks are doing in this package; the 5.25 disks couldn't be copied at all on any computer and the Emulator I can not read 3.5 disks... so

It's been modded, there's a small switch to the right of the keyboard. Anyone knows what this mod could be (perhaps MIDI / RS232 switch ?)

The positive point is that it's a high serial number, one of the latest. So it probably got all upgrades installed.

Yeah, I was wondering what the floppies were for. Can't be too many E1's about now though, I bet someone will pay that price.

Very strange... according to  the all available info, E1 with the model #6000 does not exist... There were these models: 6002: 2 Voice, 6004: 4 Voice, 6008: 8 Voice

... and yet the model #6000 is clearly printed on the factory label (see photos)...

Is it normal, that the label is printed? Mine is pierced..

Anyway - this black casing is just butt-ugly... and the beautiful Emulator-Logo on the back is gone..  
way overpriced if you ask me.

Really? How much is a fully working E1 worth these days then (bearing in mind everything's always bloody dearer in the UK)

Considering some recently sold examples, I would say 800 - 1000 $ for a working unit (without any extras, additional software and add. sounds...).

There was a unit in Paris some months ago on ebay. Seller wanted 900 Euros, unit did not sell.
I don't know how much an average price would look like, because these are so rare (nevertheless not really 'sought after', except for some geeks     )

Plus: There are no working units for sale. If there's an Emulator for sale, you can bet it's not working. That's because a working unit belongs to people who care for it and won't sell it (nowadays). I really think that's the way it is.

That unit from Paris was then bought (outside Ebay) by a friend of mine... The selling price included cca 150 sound disks..) When he brought it home, the unit did not boot... (When demonstrated by the seller, it was working...)

It does not boot any more... A vintage gear specialist is not able to fix it...

No idea...  But in the same time I have no idea how could be the factory label printed with non-existing model #...

I think those were the days, when E-Mu was a "Factory" consisting of 5 people (ceos included)...
so there still was a lot of chaos, and not much money...
maybe they've had a bunch of labels printed wrong... and just gave a damn about it.
