Anyway - since the unit is half-dead - the potential buyer of this unit does not know what he buys, if 4 or 8 voice version (2 voice v. was quickly discontinued).

... and yet the model #6000 is clearly printed on the factory label (see photos)...

... perhaps it signalizes 0 voices...

Don't bother about that label. I'm pretty sure the latest series of Emulator-I was labeled with type 6000.
Not 6002, 6004 or 6008.

My Emulator-I is also labeled 6000, and it also has a very high serial number, in fact just the S/N below the one for sale here (mine is 476). And I can guarantee that mine is an 8 voice Emulator with the highest rev. of all boards inside !

Plus: There are no working units for sale. If there's an Emulator for sale, you can bet it's not working.
I must have been lucky. Mine almost worked for 100pct when I bought it a month ago. It had some tuning stability problems (keyboard cv-like),  one voice sometimes worked, sometimes not, and the brightness of each channel was different. And it needed quite a lot of cleaning (contacts, keys, boards, ...).
I gave it a thorough service myself, but no real repairs were required to bring it in 100 pct shape again.

The price I paid was indeed in the 800-1000 USD range, but the package included also disks and other stuff.

Thank you for saving me from that painful, self-.oscillating  "research"..!

I was myself beginning to feel ill at ease by introducing the theme of misleading misnumbers...  Grin

Pity that this knowledge about the model numbers of E1 cannot be added -´at least for now -  to the EmulatorArchive documents...

The price was reduced to $ 1.000...

Still too much for a half-dead unit, I think...

....My mothers Gentleman friends estate and we're looking for a good home for it.

I have the original sales slip(total paid was over $7K), its in the original box. Its in beautiful shape and powers up... I havent had a chance yet to fully check it out so I'm not sure if everything is functional yet.
I do hate to put it up on ebay because we want to find someone who will take care of it and enjoy it as much as her best friend and companion did.
Can someone recommend a venue that might help us accomplish this?
thanks,
